Char-Broil 06401206 Grill-2-Go Advantage Portable Outdoor Gas Grill Reviews

Before I purchased this grill I was looking for the Char-Broil Fire & Ice Grill (the one with the cooler below); however they have discontinued it for some weird reason. So I researched this one for my tailgate and decided to give it a try. I normally use charcoal however it is such a mess and the smoke blows over into others tailgates which is a little rude.
PROS: Great portable grill; love the side tables; 16 oz propane tank lasted hours (which is very nice); cute little extras like a flag and extra propane tank holder, a holder for paper towels and a holder for the propane tank in use; LED lights are a nice touch; very light considering how large this grill is; has a Non-Stick Teflon coated griddle (good for breakfast items); has a grease collector under the grill; has an ignitior, very easy to setup and start cooking
CONS: You have to assemble this grill out of the box (takes about an hour) and this was disappointing;
MOST DISAPPOINTING FEATURE…you cannot just extend the legs of the base and start grilling, you must take the grill off, extend the legs and set the grill on top of the base, this again applies if you want to collapse the grill, you must take the grill off the base collapse the legs and place the grill back on top; does not have a propane gauge letting you know how much gas is left; make sure it is on a level surface, we tried to make scrambled eggs and they ran off the griddle down to the bottom of the grill
Overall if you can catch this grill on sale it is worth the money (purchased mine for around 0 on Amazon). I still believe a 0 grill should have some extra features like a propane gauge, and the grill should be able to setup without taking it on and off the base.
***PS:Thermos sells a carrying bag for the Grill 2 Go; however it does NOT fit this model. You can fit the grill but not the legs. Returned the carrying bag to Amazon and had my refunded.***

Although a little bigger and heavier than expected, the Grill2Go is a great product. Assembly seemed a bit intimidating but that too was alright to deal with. The two sided open flame grills with hinged griddle attachment make cooking options very flexible. Also hinged “counter” trays allow for great places to set things down.

Weber 7519 Gas Grill Rotisserie Reviews

I have only used the rotisserie unit twice – spinning chickens both times and the results were fabulous. (To those who have never done a rotisserie chicken at home and don’t know why it could possibly be worth the bother (when grocery stores, Costco, etc. all have them) my only advice is that you really just need to try one done right. Then, do a leg of lamb, a beef roast, and you’ll understand.) This is a powerful, quiet motor and a nice stainless spit. I loaded my first chicken relatively unevenly, and the motor put up no fuss at turning it. One comment, make sure when installing the motor braket you put the nuts inside the firebox – otherwise the lid of the grill will not shut. Great grill, great accessory.

Bought this rotisserie for my hubby for Father’s Day – but it was a gift for the entire family! Chickens turn out moist and delicious, pork roasts are fantastic. Our teenagers have actually been known to change their plans based on what nights we are cooking with the rotisserie! Is there any better praise than that?

Char-Griller 3001 Grillin’ Pro 40,800-BTU Gas Grill Reviews

I’ve done plenty of research and seen many grills before picking the ‘Char-Griller Pro 3001′. I think if you really want a solid grill that lasts forever, get a Weber. For me paying 0+ for a similar Weber isn’t an option. You also should beware of the inexpensive stainless steel grills (anything under 0). Their not stainless, the metal is thin & flimsy and they start showing signs of rust in a matter of months. I even saw some demos with rust stains?? This shouldn’t be a problem with the finish on the Char-Griller. Plus I noticed it ranked well in Consumer Reports. I picked mine up at Menards for 9.00 (on 06/26/09).
At times it was challenging to put together. The pictures and directions could’ve been more descriptive on which way things face when you put them together (ie: the legs). Plus the location of parts within the box. I had to find parts that I needed early in the installation that were wrapped up with things late in the installation?! Once you get it together it’s pretty solid. It starts easily and heats up fast. For me in less than 5-10 min. on high the temperature gage was at 650 degrees (on a windy 70 degree day in Chicago). The grates are porcelain coated cast iron. That’s a feature you want to look for in a grill. You’ll see those on higher priced models. The grates have a side for ‘Searing’ and a side for ‘Grilling’. They cleanup easily and give GREAT grill marks. Now mind you my last grill was a 12 year old ‘Char-Broil’ that was shot and I’ve only used this one twice. But from what I can tell (so far) unless you want to pay a ton for something better this is a great grill for the price.
Update: 07-27-09
It’s still a great grill for the price. I have one thing I never liked and if you’re coming from an older grill like me you should be aware of this. Older gas grills (5 or 10 years) had the burners right along the bottom of the grill base with a metal shield over the top. You then had 5 inches or so between the shield and the grilling grates. This would give you space for ‘Lava Rock’, ‘Ceramic Brickets’ and some wood chips if you choose. The rocks or bricks would catch grease and reduce flare ups. To keep the grill clean you change the rock out once a season or so. NONE OF THE NEW GRILLS (including the Char-Griller) are setup like this. They ALL have the burners and shields right below the grilling grates. And you have no room for anything below the burners. So you need to be sure to keep the bottom of the grill CLEAN and CLEAR of debris (drip trays too). As I stated before this grill heats fast and puts out a good flame. Well after cooking about 10 times or so I had some debris and an oily film on the bottom from cooking & basting things. Yep you guessed it, FIRE, FIRE! Luckily I caught it after just a couple minutes of cooking and shut it down and put everything out. I cleaned out the bottom turned it back on and it was fine. So be safe and keep it clean!

If you pay 0 you are getting ripped off. It should only cost about 9. Look somewhere else.

.01, doesn’t get much better than that. What surprised the heck out of me was ordering early Thursday morning and finding at my doorstep Friday before noon. FedEx overnight, somebody loves me. This was supposed to ship ground.
I’ve bought a Weber Q several years ago, so I already know what the fuss is about. Cast iron grill, great cook platform, etc. I’ve never used a cover, so over the years, I’ve had to replace burners, etc. as they corroded and degraded. Not Weber’s fault, but Weber customer service is the greatest, 24/7 etc., cheerfully helped identify what I needed and sent me the replacement parts.
I’ve been enviously looking at the 300 and when I saw the specs on the 320, I knew I was looking at my next Weber.
I thought I knew what I was getting, but I was pleasantly surprised at what I unboxed. This one is even cleverer than the original.
Stationary Cart is a well thought out design. Stable, with safety features I’ve never seen implemented as well. The Tank storage system that locks the propane tank in place so it can’t shift and also provides the cart with a counterweight to help prevent tips is a marvel by itself. The collapsible shelf system is elegant and functional while feeling more substantial than the Q200’s fixed shelfs.
The slightly larger cooking area is served by split cast iron grills instead of the single grill piece used by the Q200. This actually makes this grill easier to clean and service, while taking nothing away from the cook area. A stainless steel warming rack is a nice place to put up food from the grill surface. Just sits there but is totally substantial and stable.
A second burning tube, stainless steel to prevent rusting out provides the additional heat and controls to bring the grill up to the temperatures I need to cook in colder weather. 40degrees last night, and the grill still heated up to over 400 degrees in about 5 minutes.
Thermostat is simple, and will be easy to replace in the event of breakage or failure. This has an integral BBQ light that has a sensor that automatically turns it off when the lid is lowered. Very cool.
I have never been satisfied with the old style igniter on the previous Q models. The Q320 now has a electronic igniter that works great. Uses a AAA battery. Press a button and poof. Weber’s lit. The outer burner ignites the center burner automatically.
Assembly was easy with two of us, but this could have been assembled easily by one person. Directions could have been better, but pictures worked fine.
Food tastes great. Looking foward to putting through it’s paces this summer.
Already bought my grill cover. This time I don’t plan on abusing Weber Customer service as much .

Originally planned on gettin’ the Weber Summit S-320 but at 0 (the cost of livin’ in paradise), it was pricey enough to give pause. Decided on the Q 300 when I realized that I would only be cookin’ for a dozen at most. Locally, the Q 300 was priced at 7. When I discovered that Amazon had the upgraded 300 series for less, I jumped at the opportunity. And

George Foreman GGR200RDDS Round Indoor/Outdoor Electric Grill Reviews

I bought this to replace my 5 year old George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Grill that just simply was used to death, and I loved it. This one is fine, but it is smaller than the original one (my first clue should have been the reduced price) and it is a bit harder to remove the grill plate to clean it. It has a clip underneath, for safety I suppose, but I find it awkward to remove. I really like the new one, too, but I am not happy it is so much smaller. It does fit into my sink for cleaning better than my old one since it is smaller. Just a warning if you are looking to replace the original model and want the same size, order GGR50B, not this one.

I have had this grill for years and I love it!!
It comes apart easily for cleaning and heats evenly..
I like it so much that I bought it as gifts for family and they love it too…
Its great for winter grilling when its too cold to grill outdoors or for a person that lives in an apartment or condo..

Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip Grill (Blue) Reviews

We purchased this Road Trip after having a horrible experience with a grill from Cabelas. That grill had the lava rocks that moved every time you moved the grill and besides that the legs fell off. We were looking for something that would have fold under legs and no rocks. The Road Trip saved our camping days. We purchased a bag for it, keep it stored in the belly of the camper and with putting water in the tray below the burners, it is very very easy to clean up. You can place this on the picnic table to cook on or use the fold down legs. We have also discovered that this is the best way to cook grilled onions and potatoes or pork chops or chicken, etc on the griddle. Very very convenient and easy clean up. We both rate this a 5 stars. Great job, Coleman. Signed happy camper, Janet Becker

This truly is the perfect grill for the RV. Before buying, I researched everything from the Weber Q (good, not perfect), to the Themos Grill2Go (not really a grill).
Before it came, I was thinking that my high expectations from all these glowing reviews would cause me to not like it as much, but it’s even better than some of these reviews! It’s very portable, and folds up to a small size. And cooking on it is very easy, as well as just as important, clean up. If you get one, I recommend you also order a second grill grate to replace the griddle sometimes. (It comes with 1 of each). Griddle is great for eggs, grilling onions, etc., but it’s nice to have the maximum space to grill hamburgers and hotdogs for the parties.
Finally, this blue model is the best of the three Coleman Road Trip Grills, too. Even though there are some with additional letters, this one has heavier duty grates than the other two, and a better stand system (in my opinion).

The Weber Q 100 gas grill has push-button ignition for easy reliable lighting, an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high-quality regulator, sturdy glass-reinforced nylon grill frame, cast aluminum lid and body, a large weather-resistant lid handle, a porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grate, and operates on a standard 14.1 or 16.4 ounce propane cylinders (sold separately). Limited 5-year warranty. As the daylight lingers longer each day, the more carnivorous folk start salivating in anticipation. Barbecue season approaches, liberating meat lovers from the less-flavorful pan-fried steak or bland poached chicken breasts. Likewise, the vegetarians in the family rejoice in the prospect of grilled summer squash or roasted beets and corn, rather than settling for another head of iceberg lettuce and canned beans. For juicy burgers and veggie kabobs at home or at the lake, industry leader Weber offers their portable Q-100 gas grill. The propane grill employs an 8,500-BTU stainless-steel burner to heat its 189-square-inch cooking area. Weber crafted the grill’s lid and body in tough cast aluminum with a sturdy glass-reinforced nylon frame. The grill ignites at the push of a button for reliable lighting, and an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high-quality regulator makes it easy to control the heat. Meat sizzles on the porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, while drippings follow the drip ducts to reduce potential flare-ups and enable quicker cleaning. Other highlights include a flavorizer system integrated into the cooking grate, a removable catch pan, and a large weather-resistant lid handle. The grill operates on a standard 14.1- or 16.4-ounce propane cylinder. Propane does not come included, but Weber does enclose a Weber Q cookbook of recipes and inspiration. The grill measures 16 by 27

Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Gas Grill Reviews

I’ve been using a Q100 / Baby Q for over 2 years now, and am still impressed by the quality of the product and what I’m able to do with it given it’s small size. Here’s the set up:
Q100 Grill
Weber Cart
Bulk tank adapter
5-lb. propane tank
The grill surface is large enough for a family of four. Six 1/3 lb. burgers fit well enough; more and they are hard to turn. I’ve also been able to do two average sized tri-tips at once. The lid isn’t tall enough to allow a whole chicken. I was a bit wary of the 8K BTU rating at first, but the grill heats up just fine- it will do a wonderful sear on pretty much anything after 7-10 minutes of preheat. The heat is also very even, with the virtually whole grill surface usable. The best thing about the small burner is fuel efficiency; 5 lbs. of propane lasts all season (in SoCal!) at 1-2 uses per week. Please note that this is a single burner grill with a ring-shaped burner. Indirect cooking isn’t really possible although on low heat, one can get close enough to do justice to a tri-tip.
I’ve only got a couple of small complaints… First, the support ring for the portable tank (at least with the Baby Q) only accepted 14 oz. propane bottles- the kind used with plumber’s torches. They are more expensive than the 16 oz. bottles used for camping. I just made my own 16 oz. bottle ring out of a heavy coat hanger. Of course with the bulk tank, this is a non-issue. The 5 lb. tank (from Home Depot) is pretty small. Second, the grill is somewhat sensitive to wind. A good breeze blowing through the sides causes a definite loss of temperature above the grill surface, under the lid. Cooking is still possible but times go up about 30-40%. Last, the holes in the burner can get clogged up, especially when there’s a lot of liquid pouring off the grill surface. I’ve had to ‘unclog’ parts of the burner with a push-pin a couple of times now.
Anyway, I love the product as it’s about 75% of a full-size grill at 1/3 the size and 1/4 the price, within its limits (grill area). I think the only thing I’d do differently is get the version with the side tables (Q120).

Last year when I bought this grill, over 100 people had written 4 plus star reviews. So I took their advice and bought this grill, you can see those reviews if you look for Baby Q.
A year later I still love cooking on the Q. I cook for three plus leftovers. The heavy grate is fantastic, all the other grills had thin, flimsy grates. I love grilling with the Q, I can cook dinner in 15-20 minutes.
I hooked mine up to a 5 lb propane tank. The five lb tank is the smallest tank you can buy, I can cook for a month on it.
This grill starts out hot for 6 months, then to get it to grill hot with a propane tank… turn tank on slowly, over ten seconds, and then light grill at the end of two minutes.
Lots of people use tanks with this grill.Weber does not like it, but the support women will talk you through set up if you ask nice. The weber hot line is veryhelpful with cooking suggestions, I had a temp problem they helped me resolve, but buy the book.
Get a stop watch,a basting brush, tongs, grill brush and read the Webber grilling book. This makes a huge difference in the quality of your cooking, I mean it, follow a few directions to get sucess everytime. The weber book is worth is for the grilling time charts.
Leaving charcoal behind took me way too long… this is superior.
Support from Weber is wonderful….
So buy this grill and have fun cooking this summer.
Another year later I am still in love with my grill. The heavy cast iron grate is what makes ths grill superior to other, cheaper grills. My friends bought the cheaper ones, the food sticks, and burns on.
You must clean the grate when the grill is hot, after cooking, it takes about one minutes of scarping with the grill brush. My friends with the cheap grills never want to grill, their grills are dirty and a pain to clean. My grill is always ready to go.

George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor Grill
Easily converts from outdoor to indoor use. 17.5 diameter/over 240 square inch cooking surface, Center channel drains fat into large grease tray, Non-stick coated cooking surface, Immersible with probe removed, MegaDome lid with adjustable steam vent, Adjustable temperature control, Cool-touch handles.Grilling really can’t get much easier than this. After assembling the grill (which takes only a few minutes), simply plug it in and allow about 10 minutes to fully preheat the surface while you gather your steaks, kebabs, or whatever’s to be grilled. The electric heat has an adjustable range from low (for keeping food warm) to high (for searing steaks). The nonstick grill surface not only means you can use a minimum of added fat, but it also makes cleanup a cinch. The surface has a subtle slope, with channels that draw accumulated fat or other liquids into a tray just below the surface. The high domed and vented lid helps create a circular flow of hot air to ensure even cooking–particularly important for a large roast or whole chicken. The grill can be placed either directly on a tabletop or atop its pedestal. On its own, the grill surface stands about 6 inches high; with the pedestal, it stands about 2-1/2 feet high, not counting the domed lid. The pedestal is plenty sturdy for cooking, but the grill still seems a bit top-heavy, so pay special attention if grilling in a high-traffic area or near kids. Because of the easy electric heat, this grill can be used outdoors or indoors–when using it indoors, though, be prepared for potential spattering, steam, or other side effects of cooking. –Cynthia Nims
- No-fuss grilling made easy, for use indoors or outside
- Grill can be used on pedestal (stands about -1/2 feet high) or on tabletop
- Uses electric heat, with adjustable range from low to high
- Sloping grate base draws fat away from food to collect in easy-to-empty tray
- Grill top measures 17 inches across for generous cooking capacity

George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor Grill Reviews

Before I get into this review, we have to understand the product we are looking at: a George Foreman ELECTRIC grill. George Foreman products are essentially useful variations of hotplates. In this case, the hot plate takes the form of a grill (with a stand, a dome cover, a large cooking surface with raised grooves etc…).
That being said, this product caters to people (me) willing to try a product that is not a traditional charcoal grill, could be useful in smaller spaces/porches, looks like it is easy to use and clean up, could potentially cut some fat (never hurts, right?), and seems like it will work well as a good back-up grill or a quick solution to throwing mini-bbqs requiring even heat distribution without the hassle of buying/lighting/dumping coal. If that’s you, then read on…
Here, I’ll try my best to outline the grill’s pros and cons, as well as do a quick, inevitable comparison it to a traditional charcoal grill.
PROS:
The pros of this grill basically equal the pros of using hot plates in general:
1) Quick Heat – The whole surface heats up very quickly (you’ll be ready to cook in a few minutes after you twist the switch)
2) Design – Basically you have the stand, a bottom dome, the flat grill that sits on the bottom dome, then the lid (top dome). You can easily remove the flat grill part to use indoors separate from the stand, and it also makes for easy cleaning since you can just throw the flat grill surface in the sink.
3) Easy to Clean – The grill surface is relatively easy to clean. Understand, grease is never easy to clean. But in my situation, i wipe off the chunks of grease with paper towels, then run hot water over it in the sink (yes it fits in my sink) and wash it with a soapy sponge. It’s basically like cleaning a big oily plate by hand in the sink, however easy or hard that is to you.
4) Space Saving – The bulk of the materials are where it should be: the grilling surface. Everything else (aka the stand) is small and portable.
5) Easy to Assemble – A no brainer. Put the pole of the stand into the foot of the stand. Attach the grilling surface to the bottom dome. Stick that whole thing on the stand. Then put the cover on top. Took a few minutes while I was watching TV.
6) Great Tasting Food – Of course this part is important. I tried cooking everything unseasoned and it just tastes great. I mean, this this one thing I love about hotplates…food tastes good without a lot of seasoning. I cooked unseasoned burgers, top sirloin, chuck roast, kielbasa..it was fast, it tasted good, and it had good looking grill stripes on it when I was done.
Cons:
Seriously, not much that I can think of. If I had to be picky:
1) Could be a little heavy for people with a bad back?
2) When you lift it by the handles, the stand comes out (since they’re not really “attached”….the grill just sits on the stand.) So you gotta lift it by the pole of the stand, really…this isn’t even a con truthfully.
3) People complain about the grease not dripping into the pan. Well, it’s a hot plate with grooves and a hole in it for grease to drip. Of course not all the grease magically swims toward the magical grease drip hole. But still, it works fine…I didn’t notice sever grease build-up that stood in the way of my grilling.
Comparison to a Traditional Grill:
Really, there shouldn’t be a comparison. Obviously this is not a charcoal grill and should never be compared to one. They are just 2 different things, and so they make food taste different: traditional grills basically fire cook your food through the coal’s heat so you get the taste of charcoal while this product essentially “pan sears” your food. I’m a long time lover of all kinds of BBQ, and charcoal grills are great fun, make great tasting food and really cannot be replicated. You shouldn’t be buying this grill to ever *REPLACE* a charcoal grill; it should be bought to be a 2nd grill that’s great for rainy days or a primary grill if you really have no space and don’t have time/space to deal with lighting and dumping charcoal.
Overall, this grill is an electric hot plate with raised grooves that makes great tasting food quickly, quietly, and easily. And for what it is, it’s a SUPERB product (and relatively affordable too!). Go get one! I didn’t regret my purchase and I don’t think you will either.

Originally I saw my mother’s George Forman grill (smaller indoor one with lid). Then I saw my brother’s Party Size grill. Both of them love their grill. I was able to taste the food from both and found it very tasty and easy to use. I decided to do some investigating on my own intending to purchase the party size grill, when I saw the indoor/outdoor grill. I was impressed with the fact that it appeared to be a bigger cooking surface and the price I found was within reason. I purchased it for the purpose of using it as an extra grill for a cookout I was having. No one used the gas grill at all. I have since used it indoors without the stand, making it convient on rainy days. It is the easiest grill to use and clean that we have ever owned. You can cook everything evenly, because there are no coals to level out. It can easily hold 4 to 5 steaks, 10 big hamburgers, and the list goes one. I am sure there are some drawbacks to those that swear by gas/charcoal grills, but my gas grill has found a permanent residence in our shed, while George sits ready to use at any time indoors or out on our back porch. I am so impressed, that I am purchasing one for my parents for Christmas, to replace the charcoal grill that takes for ever to heat up and messy to clean. I’m sure they’ll love it too!
