In theory this is a nice set, and I like all of the different tools — but I bought this as a gift, and I’m going to return it. It just looks too cheap. The wooden handles are chipped in some places, there’s almost no finish on them, and the plastic case is really flimsy and cheap looking. Perhaps if I was buying them for myself I wouldn’t mind, but I’d be embarrassed to give this as a gift.

The plus about this set is the sheer number of things you get. I especially liked the idea of getting a set of knives with this….

The minus is just about everything else. The case is cheap shoddy plastic. The large tools are all TOO LARGE and bulky, I found them to be rather unwieldy. The worst thing about them, believe it or not, is that the rubber grips STINK to high heaven. They must off-gas like crazy or something because I found it to be seriously offensive (it’s a very chemical sort of odor, I ended up cutting the rubber off from the most-used tools and throwing it out). The basting brush is COMPLETELY USELESS – the bristles are made from a plastic-based material, so guess what happens when you try to baste a hot piece of meat? They melt, if you’re lucky they just melt together and not right into your piece of chicken…This probably matches the smelly, off-gasing rubber gribs in terms of stupidity…Anyway, I would recomend getting some other tools, they are probably more expensive for a reason..

These utensils are very cool. The sets have everything you need for prepping food, cooking it, and cleaning the grill. I purchased a set for my father’s birthday. The tools are substantial, with comfortable contoured grips. The spatula is HUGE — great for steaks and big burgers, and it has a fun bottle opener in the handle. The tongs are curved so that you can use them to scoop marinade. The basting brush has a removable head with drip cap which is good for avoiding messes. He puts them in the dishwasher with no problems. These are much better than the old-style wooden handled ones. The sets would make great father’s day presents or gifts for any discerning BBQ chef. My dad will be using them all summer and bringing them to tailgates in the fall!

The black carry case makes a great impression and provides a useful storage container.

This BBQ set is well done (no pun intended).

I’ve had one for a while now and I have used it in both the harsh climate of West Africa and the frigid cold of Central Europe. It holds up. Well, the case doesn’t hold up so well… After a few years it’s beginning to fall apart. But the main pieces, the pieces that you’re really going to use over and over again when you’re cooking meat on the open grill, hold up very well.

We had a bad habit of leaving them outside when we lived in Africa and never once was corrosion a problem. Seeing as how everything else metal we had rusted through, this alone was a testament. The grill scraper is very efficient and we still haven’t had the need to install the supplied spare that comes with the set.

I would probably pay for the spatula alone. I really like the side that you can use to cut the meat while it’s on the grill. The tongs are pretty heavy duty as well and the fork has been used to hold up a few large pieces of meat from time to time and never threaten to bend.

Overall I like the way the pieces feel – very solid. I like the way they look – very classy. And I like the way that they last – Very durable.

The only disappointment is the price – If I had the ability, I’d wait until a summer BBQ sale to get one, but even at it’s list price, I would buy another one if I had to. Thankfully, so far I haven’t had to.

My Cuisinart Grilling Platter makes cooking fish and vegetables much easier. I’ve always had issues with my fish filets falling through the grill grate, and this product keeps my filet intact and presentable when I have guests over. Same with thin-cut vegetables like asparagus and squash. The handle easily locks into place when it’s time to remove everything from the grill, so I can just bring it to my patio table and serve it there.

I’m disappointed in this product. The detachable handle, while clever, has issues ‘locking’ into place. It has to grab two places but the little hooks don’t quite line up making it a tricky to try to pick up. Then, first time I used it the whole thing warped because the steel isn’t quite thick enough. It still works (it goes on the grill and wobbles there) but it is not like I hoped it would be.

I purchased this BBQ set for my boyfriend last year, and he loves it! All of the tools are very very well made. The metal does not stain or rust, and the wood is very well finished. The metal goes all the way through the handle and is attached very well to the wood. The outer case has a great look and feel with a nice reddish finish. The closing clasps are firm and hold it very well. The entire set looks very high-class and a great presentation. He has been using it all year, and it has stood up very well (though we have never put it in the dishwasher). The blades have remained very sharp and the entire set looks as good as the day I first gave it to him.

I definitely recommend this set as a gift or for personal use when you want that touch of class.

I have owned several of these grill baskets/woks, and this one is the best. I always liked doing shish-kabob type meals on the grill, but the problem with different foods taking different times to grill was a big problem. The mushrooms were never done and the tomatoes were falling off the skewer. This grill wok solves that problem completely.

I can stage the entry of veggies/meats into the grill wok according to the time it takes them to cook. Things like mushrooms and garlic cloves go in first. Squash, onion, peppers come next. Cherry tomatoes go in last, just enough to warm them a bit. A little spray oil, seasoning and experience and your grilled veggie dishes come out healthy and absolutely delicious. I’ve done quick-grill seafood medleys in this successfully, too (shrimp, scallops, calamari). Getting the grill really hot seems to be the key to getting a slight char while not overcooking.

I’ve owned several grill baskets and this one is much better than any other I’ve tried, so much so I’ve thrown those out and am now buying another one of these. The ability to detach the handle and securely re-attach it quickly is the feature that sets this one apart. I like to be able to close the grill’s lid to retain heat since I usually cook meats on the top rack. Fold-away handles on other designs I’ve tried are not secure enough to use the saute` action I find essential to keeping the contents moving adequately over a hot grill, and small side-handles on others I’ve tried are even less useful. I just open the grill every minute or two, attach the handle, and toss the contents, adding seasoning or more ingredients as needed. Works like a charm!

The round shape is perfect – no corners for food to get stuck in. Stainless steel is nice, too. This thing gets “seasoned” like an iron skillet after a few uses. I leave mine on the hot grill when done and it pretty much takes care of itself.

You can overfill these things, which makes if very difficult to move the contents around freely, so you may want two if you find yourself grilling for more than a few folks at a time – and you have enough area on your grill.

This pan is just right for roasting and/or grilling veggies and potatoes. The handle comes off easily, which is handy when you want to close the lid on your grill.

With the handle on it feels a bit wobbly, but it stays on and so far I have had good results. Spraying the pan with PAM just before use is definately a good idea for nice browning results and easier clean-ups.
